Letizia Amadini-Lane is a Business Transformation Executive with more than 25 years of experience in improving individual, team and organizational performance of global corporations and international agencies. She is currently serving as the Vice President of Strategic Alliances for the Office of the CEO at the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute. She drives strategy and tactical operations to accelerate growth, innovate, and create new partnerships for the Institute.
Dr. Amadini-Lane is a consultant and coach with expertise in mergers & acquisitions, business transformation & restructuring, organizational effectiveness, and change management. She has extensive team leadership and management experience across multiple functions and organizational levels.
Before her current job, Dr. Amadini-Lane was Vice President and Global Head of Employee Value Proposition at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), a global research-based pharmaceutical company. Previously, she was Vice President and Head of Leadership Culture for GSK’s R&D organization. Prior to these roles in organizational development, she served in strategic business line positions, including most recently as Vice President, Strategy, Operations & Alliance Management in GSK’s Worldwide Business Development unit. Since joining GSK in 2001, Dr. Amadini-Lane helped create and build the strategic alliance management function, which manages strategic collaborations for development, launch, and life-cycle management of drug compounds. She led the strategy to create the Center of Excellence for Business Development across GSK. In 2010 she received the “Rising Star” award from the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA).
Dr. Amadini-Lane has more than 25 years of experience in corporate development, strategic alliance creation, and government relations in the global pharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining GSK, she was an independent consultant in the cardiovascular therapeutic area for SmithKline Beecham, where she created the company’s first template for a strategic alliances function. Previously, she was the principal of AXTEN-Health Corporation, an international case management, consulting and referral service. Prior to AXTEN, she was pharmaceutical specialist-consultant for The World Bank, where she created public/private alliances to reform the pharmaceutical sector in emerging economies.
Dr. Amadini-Lane holds a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of La Sapienza and a Master of Herbal Medicine from the University of Urbino. She holds the certified degree of Archetypal Pattern Analyst and is the founder and creator of IMAGE Thinkingsm, a novel approach to discovering leadership preferences and patterns within individuals and organisations.
