President, Champion Strategies, LLC
Maxine Champion has served as a public director of ICE Futures [previously the NY Board of Trade] since 2001. She is Chair of the Regulatory Oversight Committee and a member of the Business Conduct Committee. She is also Board of the Canterbury Laboratories and is an on the Council of National Advisors for Springboard Enterprises, which educates, showcases and supports women entrepreneurs as they seek equity capital and grow their companies. In 2002 she founded Champion Strategies, LLC, to focus on public policy, tax, trade, strategic and governance issues for corporations and non-profit entities.
Previously she was Vice President of Government and International Relations at Nestle USA, where she worked with business units to shape strategy for global business growth. She was appointed to the Nestle US Advisory Board during her entire tenure, and was selected to complete leadership training at the prestigious IMD International Institute for Management Development in Switzerland. Previous jobs include: the first woman officer at LTV Corporation [then rated No. 46 on the Fortune 100]; Tax Counsel to the House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee [during the historic 1986 tax reform bill]; a trial and appellate attorney at the US Department of Justice; and Attorney-Advisor to the Chief Judge of the US Tax Court.
She is a past appointee to the Internal Revenue Service Commissioner’s Advisory Board and a former board member of the American Council for Capital Formation’s Center for Policy Research. She also has been appointed a Visiting Fellow to the European Union [then EEC].
Ms. Champion is a member of the bars of the US Supreme Court, US Tax Court, District of Columbia and Pennsylvania. She is on the International Advisory Committee for the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure and the Corcoran Gallery of Art Contemporaries Board in Washington, DC.
