Molly Joel Coye, MD, MPH, brings many years of experience in public health, government, large hospital systems, insurance companies, academia and nonprofits to her role as Executive in Residence for AVIA. In this role, Dr. Coye helps to build networks and strategies that will accelerate the adoption of high-value innovations.
Dr. Coye comes to AVIA from UCLA Health where she served as Chief Innovation Officer for UCLA Health and Clinical Professor of Family Medicine. Dr. Coye was also the founder and CEO of the Health Technology Center (HealthTech), a non-profit education and research organization established in 2000 that became the premier forecasting organization for emerging technologies in health care. Dr. Coye has also served as Commissioner of Health for the State of New Jersey, Director of the California State Department of Health Services, and Head of the Division of Public Health Practice at the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health. Dr. Coye is an elected member of the Institute of Medicine, a member of the Board of Directors of Aetna, Prosetta Biosciences, BigWhiteWall, and Access Health International, and serves on several advisory boards of venture and private equity firms investing in health care information technology and services.
Dr. Coye holds MD and MPH degrees from Johns Hopkins University and an MA in Chinese History from Stanford University, and is the author of two books on China.
