Lisa Gersh | CEO, Goop.com
Lisa Gersh is the CEO of Alexander Wang. Previously, she was the CEO for Goop.com, and is the former CEO of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc. Before joining MSLO, Ms. Gersh served as President of Strategic Initiatives at NBC and Managing Director of the Weather Channel Companies for NBC Universal. Ms. Gersh played an instrumental role in NBC Universal’s multi-billion dollar acquisition of The Weather Channel Companies and served as interim CEO in 2009. In addition, while at NBC Universal, Ms. Gersh pioneered the creation of the company’s groundbreaking Education Nation platform. Ms. Gersh joined NBC Universal in 2007 after the company acquired Oxygen Media, a media company that Ms. Gersh co-founded with Geraldine Laybourne and served as its President and Chief Operating Officer. As Oxygen’s President and Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Gersh led the day-to-day operations of the company and served as the principal engineer of Oxygen’s foundation partnerships with Carsey-Werner LLC and Harpo Productions, Inc. She was also responsible for the company’s financing and major MSO agreements, and in 2004 led Oxygen to its first year of positive cash flow. Ms. Gersh was principally responsible for the sale of Oxygen to NBC Universal. A graduate of the State University of New York Binghamton, Ms. Gersh holds a law degree from Rutgers Law School. She serves on the Board of Hasbro, Inc.
