Lorrie Keating Heinemann served as Governor Jim Doyle’s Secretary of the Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) from 2003-2010. In 2004, Heinemann co-founded the Wisconsin Angel Network (WAN) with the Wisconsin Technology Council (WTC), which was recognized by Inc. Magazine and the National Governor’s Association as a best practice in angel investing. She served on WAN’s Angel Advisory Committee, on the WTC’s Board and a Trustee for WiSys Technology Foundation, an affiliate of WARF (Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation). She now serves as the President of the Madison Development Corporation. Prior to her position, Heinemann founded an investment firm in 1985 and 5 years later merged it into Valley Bank, where she built a portfolio from $10 million to $150 million of assets under management. Lorrie holds a BBA from UW Eau Claire, a MBA from UW Oshkosh and Series 7 and Series 24 securities licenses. Lorrie is a 2007 graduate of the Venture Capital Institute.
