Karima Bawa | Senior Fellow, Centre for International Governance and Innovation

karima-bawaKarima Bawa is a Senior Fellow at the Centre for International Governance and Innovation (“CIGI”), where she has been studying issues surrounding the commercialization of University R&D and capacity-building in IP strategy for Canadian innovators. From 2000 to 2012, Karima was at Research In Motion (BlackBerry), where she served as the chief legal officer and general counsel and managed the global legal function and the company’s vast IP portfolio. In addition to her work with CIGI , she is also involved with advising and supporting technology start-ups. Karima holds a Bachelor of Science, a Bachelor of Law and a Masters in Business Administration
