About: Bootcamp New York 2003

Building on 2002’s successful Bootcamp at Goldman Sachs, Springboard Enterprises and the Women Presidents’ Organization co-hosted a new Growth Capital Workshop at Columbia Business School on March 27, 2003. The one-day Growth Capital Workshop featured keynotes and case studies from successful women entrepreneurs, as well as panels on positioning for growth and attracting the right investment sources. At the end of the day, four women entrepreneurs presented their two-minute ‘elevator’ pitch to a panel of investors.

Reception:

On Wednesday March 26th, Springboard Enterprises, Women Presidents’ Organization and Enterprising Women Magazine co-hosted a reception celebrating the new Enterprising Women Exhibit at the New York Historical Society. This invitation-only gathering honored several outstanding women entrepreneurs, including Kay Koplovitz and Muriel Siebert, for their lifetime achievements.

Enterprising Women: 250 Years of American Business

This exhibition, presented in collaboration with the Schlesinger Library of the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University and the Museum of Our Natural Heritage in Lexington, Massachusetts, told the compelling story of American women in business from the colonial era to the present.

Enterprising Women brought to life the stories of some 50 intriguing women who helped shape the landscape of American business. Artifacts and costumes, diaries and letters, business and legal documents, photographs and paper ephemera, audio recordings, and on-line interactive technology reveal the trials and triumphs of this fascinating and diverse group. A Web site and a fully illustrated catalogue accompanied the exhibition, as well as a full range of educational and public programming, including lectures, teacher workshops, oral history initiatives, and lesson plans for middle and high schools.
