|Jim Robbins is the founder of Business Cluster Development. Prior to his retirement in 2016, Robbins was a partner at BCD. He still serves as a Senior Advisor. Until 2009, Jim was also the Director of the Environmental Business Cluster (EBC), which specializes in commercialization of clean and renewable energy technology in Silicon Valley, California. The EBC was chosen as the 2008 winner of the NBIA Randall Whaley Incubator of the Year Award. Jim is also the Co-Founder and former Executive Director of the Software Business Cluster (SBC), the first software incubator in California and winner of the NBIA Randall Whaley Award in 2000. Jim served as a Principal in Panasonic Ventures, a $100 Million dollar investment fund. He also served on the Board of Directors of NBIA for 6 years, spending the last year as Chair. Jim has more than 35 years of experience in the fields of new business formation, organizational design, and technology development. In addition, he worked for Digital Equipment Corporation, the U.S. Supreme Court and was a trial attorney.
