Cherie Whitney is the Vice President of Corporate Development at EMC Corporation managing global mergers and acquisitions and strategic investments. As part of EMC’s Corporate Development team, Cherie has played an active role in facilitating over $11 billion in software, hardware and other technology acquisitions. Outside of traditional acquisitions, Cherie has led the structuring of multiple joint ventures, developed complex operational models and business plans, and collaborated with strategic partners on the formation of new entities. Prior to becoming a member of the Corporate Development team, Cherie started her EMC career in 2000 as part of the Marketing organization.
Cherie holds an MBA and a BA from Bentley University and an MA from Georgetown University. She is actively involved in several entrepreneurial organizations, including Springboard’s Media/Tech Council and as a mentor for DC’s startup incubator 1776. Cherie is an active supporter of women’s advocacy in business through her participation in mentorship programs, EMC’s women’s leadership forum, and organizations like 85 Broads and Women in Technology.
