Petra Meyer currently co-leads life science investments for Golden Seeds, a $181 million AUM angel network with investments in 251 early-stage, women-led companies. In addition, she advises portfolio company boards, founders, and executives on a regular basis.
At Inspired Solutions, she advises early-stage to large enterprise executive leadership teams and boards in multiple verticals. Engagements focus on capital formation, product/market fit, IP protection, organic growth & scalability, and turnaround & revitalization strategies.
Before her advisory career, Ms. Meyer had 25+ years of general management and marketing leadership experience with Fortune Global 500 companies in the healthcare and CPG verticals.
Most recently, as Regional Managing Director for Europe (General Manager) she owned a
$3+ billion P&L for the Alphega Pharmacy Group, a Walgreens Boots Alliance (NSDQ: WBA) subsidiary. Stepping into a turnaround situation, she developed and executed an organic growth strategy that consistently met or exceeded aggressive targets.
She joined Walgreens Boot Alliance from the Merck Group (FWB: MRK) where she was the first Chief Marketing Officer of a new global Consumer Healthcare Division. In this role, she developed and executed a strategy that elevated high-potential brands from 60 countries, opened a QVC channel, and led China and India market entry. Her vision, strategy, and execution were instrumental in the new division meeting its annual targets.
Her early career included progressively responsible marketing roles at CGP giant Unilever (LSE: ULVR) and the Boots Group (now Walgreens Boots Alliance) in London, Paris, and Hamburg.
A New York City resident, Ms. Meyer speaks fluent English, French, and German and has worked with colleagues and served customers from multiple global cultures throughout her career.
She has an MBA in International Business and an undergraduate International Business degree from the University of Bayreuth. In addition, she studied strategy, innovation, finance, and risk management at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, INSEAD, and the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology.
