Longevity
Council

Supporting women-led companies advancing innovation across health, care, housing, and financial independence to extend healthspan and improve how people age.

By 2050, more than 2.1 billion people will be over 60, driving demand for new solutions across health, care, housing, and financial independence. The aging of the global population is one of the most consequential chances to improve millions of lives – and one of the greatest business opportunities of our time. The companies that will define the $6.8 trillion global healthspan market are being built right now.

And yet the women-led companies best positioned to seize this opportunity – whose founders live the friction points of aging as caregivers, as patients, as the primary decision-makers for their families – remain systematically underfunded and underserved. Springboard has spent over 25 years proving that women-led companies outperform the market, and building the network to help them do it.

Springboard’s Longevity Accelerator brings that track record and that network to bear on the longevity economy: pairing high-potential women-led companies with an unmatched community of advisors, investors, and operators who are ready to help them scale – and change how the world ages in the process.

About the Longevity Council

Springboard’s Longevity Council is a carefully curated group of professionals who share their industry and functional experience directly with founders participating in Springboard’s Longevity Accelerator. Click here to read more about the Program.

Council members contribute in a variety of ways, at the level that fits their availability.

Depending on program and cohort needs, Council members may:

  • Screen and interview applicants
  • Lead or join an advisory team
  • Deliver a workshop or panel
  • Participate in a 1:1 session with a founder
  • Contribute thought leadership and share market insights that further founder success and broaden Springboard’s visibility and reach across the longevity ecosystem
  • Participate in key cohort sessions with feedback and questions
  • Refer future founders
  • Make sponsor introductions

Council members also enjoy:

  • Recognition as a strategic advisor in longevity innovation, with thought leadership opportunities
  • Early, close-up visibility into an exciting set of companies
  • Council-only opportunities to connect with one another, as well as the opportunity to participate in some of the founder-facing programming
  • A regular newsletter to keep connected to Springboard’s broader network

FAQs

What is the Council application and selection process?

Council applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Interested individuals are encouraged to submit their application by the priority deadline: Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at 9 p.m. ET in order to be included in the initial announcement. Beyond that date, recruitment will be ongoing and shaped by the evolving needs of the founder cohort.

Following submission, the Springboard team will connect with applicants who appear to be a strong potential match during the priority application period through July 20 to learn more about their interests, expertise, and availability, and to discuss how their experience may align with the cohort curriculum and founders’ needs.

Council members will be selected based on the relevance of their expertise to the accelerator program, the needs of the cohort, and the ways in which they can meaningfully support participating founders.

How will Council members be matched with founders or opportunities to participate?

Springboard takes a thoughtful approach to matching Council members with founders and opportunities to engage. We want Council members to spend their time where their experience, perspective, and energy can be most helpful and where the connection feels relevant and meaningful on both sides.

Through the Council application, we ask about each member’s areas of expertise, preferred ways of working with founders, availability, and the types of companies or challenges they are most excited to support. These responses help us identify opportunities for Council members to contribute through advisory teams, 1:1 founder sessions, workshops, panels, application review, interviews, or other cohort activities.

Our goal is to build strong, well-aligned relationships that support founder growth while making Council participation focused, productive, and rewarding.

What is the time commitment?

The time commitment is designed to be meaningful but manageable, and will vary based on each Council member’s role. Lead Advisors may contribute approximately 5 hours per month, Advisory Group members typically contribute 2–3 hours per month, and other Council members may contribute around 1–2 hours per month.

The time commitment may be slightly higher during the company selection period.

Council members may (will?) also be invited to participate in optional programming, networking opportunities, and community meetings.

What types of companies will be part of the accelerator?

The accelerator will support high-potential, women-led companies advancing innovation across health, care, housing, and financial independence to extend healthspan and improve how people age. This may include companies focused on preventive health, care delivery, caregiving, aging in place, home and community-based services, benefits, financial security, workforce solutions, data platforms, and other models that help people live longer, healthier, more independent lives. We’re excited to welcome a cohort that reflects the breadth of the longevity economy, and is not limited to traditional healthcare or health tech.

How are companies selected?

Companies will complete an application, and a subset of applicants will be invited to interview. Council members may be asked to support the selection process by reviewing applications and joining interviews when their expertise, background, or perspective is a strong fit for the company being considered.

We want Council members to be involved in the moments where they can be most helpful and have the greatest impact. This year, interview participation will be more thoughtfully curated, rather than asking all Council members to join every interview.

Final cohort decisions will be made by the Springboard team, with input from Council members, guidance from the Steering Committee, and with the goal of building a strong, cohesive, and diverse cohort.

Is there a fee to participate?

There is no fee to participate in the Council. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that takes no equity from the companies we support, Springboard gratefully welcomes voluntary tax-deductible contributions to help us continue providing access, mentorship, and opportunity for women-led companies.
