With deep expertise in healthcare law and policy, she blends legal knowledge with strategic business insights to drive success in healthcare innovation.
Beyond her work at Nixon Law Group, Carrie serves as Special Advisor to Empactful Capital, a Silicon Valley-based healthcare venture capital firm. Her entrepreneurial spirit comes from direct experience—she’s the founder of two successful companies and co-founder of a non-profit public policy organization.
Carrie earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law before launching her legal career at Mintz Levin, an AmLaw 250 firm, where she practiced in the Health Law section. She later joined the D.C. office of Reed Smith, another AmLaw 250 firm, focusing on healthcare litigation. Prior to law school, Carrie worked as a Deputy Policy Director for a senior leadership office in the U.S. House of Representatives. A member of the Virginia Bar, Carrie lives just outside of D.C. in Northern Virginia with her husband, daughter, and dog.
