I’ve spent over 20 years building organizations from the ground up: six companies, countless lessons learned, and a belief that the best investors are operators and domain experts. Today, AI is reshaping every industry and I’ve integrated it into advising, mentoring and investing. That belief and that lens are the foundation of Material Change Institute, where I am currently the Founder & CEO.
At Material Change Institute, we develop and accelerate domain experts and operators as investors. We’ve trained 95+ Fellows across five cohorts, and the best part of this work is watching Fellows discover that their domain expertise and operator experience is what makes them a better investor.
Before Material Change Institute, I served as expert domain advisor at Martis Capital, a healthcare-focused private equity firm, where I developed investment theses and evaluated opportunities in women’s healthcare. Prior to that, I was co-founder and COO/CCO at Future Family, where I designed and built the operational and care infrastructure partnering with 170 fertility clinics. Earlier, I founded and scaled Lulan and WE’VE across 29 countries, partnering with over 1,000 artisan organizations.
I have advised and mentored 45+ technology and health companies through Creative Destruction Lab and Innovate Calgary, and serve on advisory boards for LyfeMD and My Normative.
I’m particularly focused on how AI is changing the way organizations are built, how investment decisions are made, and how expertise itself is evolving.
I’m an Aspen Institute Fellow, TED speaker, and author of “Material Change: Design Thinking and the Social Entrepreneurship Movement”.
