Position Overview
Springboard is seeking an effective, mission-driven Director of Development. The Director of Development’s main objective is to create a sustainable financial organization through creative strategies that result in program and fundraising growth.
Responsibilities
The Director of Development is responsible for developing and implementing Springboard’s fundraising strategy. Working closely with the CEO and the Board of Directors, the Director of Development will be responsible for cultivating and expanding relationships with sponsors to secure revenue partnerships, managing fundraising events, and ultimately meeting Springboard’s fundraising goals.
- Build, lead, and manage a strategic Development department that can capably address fundraising through philanthropy, grants, sponsorships, and in-kind support.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for the organization’s portfolio of individual, foundation, and corporate supporters.
- Build a pipeline of new prospects by researching, identifying, and cultivating new corporate alliances.
- Initiate and manage successful fundraising campaigns.
- Oversee the successful implementation of fundraising events, including Springboard’s Annual Gala Awards evening.
- Develop and manage an annual development plan and fundraising budget designed to meet fundraising goals.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Development, Fundraising, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
- Five years+ of development experience in a nonprofit or foundation.
- Experience working with a Board of Directors.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in grant writing and proposal development.
- Proven success in developing and managing fundraising campaigns, budgets, and event planning and management.
