Vice President of Medicare Integration, AETNA
Rachel DeScenza is Vice President of Medicare Integration at AETNA. Prior to joining AETNA in 2012, she was Vice President, Regulatory Compliance Medicare and New York Medicaid, at AMERIGROUP Corporation. Rachel has over twenty years’ experience in Government Programs healthcare regulatory compliance and operations. In addition, Rachel has led several integrations including the Coventry integration and migration program and is currently serving as the Medicare Functional Lead for the Humana integration. Rachel most recently led the Medicare platform assessment, selection, and implementation of the Medicare Next Gen Program. As part of her previous Operations Integrity role at Aetna, and her past roles at AMERIGROUP, Oxford and United, Rachel has had direct oversight for the Medicare Advantage plans. In addition to the oversight responsibilities, Rachel has been directly involved with expansion applications, fraud waste and abuse programs, Compliance Officer for a large PDP, internal and external audits and development of formalized compliance programs. Rachel holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Green Mountain College in Vermont and has completed her course work in Healthcare Policy Administration from New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. Rachel resides in New Canaan, CT with her husband and her two children.
